Muhammara

Blend these ingredients into a smooth paste:

  • 2 roasted red bell peppers or 1 jar TJs roasted red bell peppers
  • 3 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil, divided
  • 1/4 lb shelled toasted walnuts
  • 1 garlic clove roughly chopped
  • 2 1/2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 3/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp pomegranate molasses or maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sumac
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • (optional) 1 tsp Aleppo pepper (I have omitted since I don't have this)
  • (optional) 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
